Facebook To Launch Music Service?

Stunned by the sudden and unprecedented online interest in Google's new social networking service, Facebook has been firing all cylinders to make sure that its competitor remains far behind. It recently launched a Skype-powered video chat service to combat Hangout in Google+, and now it seems to be allegedly preparing to launch a new music service to up the ante. This is in reference to a product known as Vibes, found within the code of the Skype-powered software plug-in that downloads to enable video chat on Facebook.

According to a report on Mashable, software engineer and researcher Jeff Rose was curious about what exactly was getting installed and decided to take a look at the code of the plug-in. Jeff was surprised to find that the installer contained not one, but two applications: Peep, which enables video chat, and a second application is Vibes, which seems to be similar to a music downloading app.
The code appears as below:
  if (paramString.equals("com.facebook.peep"))
  return this.window.getMember("VideoChatPlugin");
  if (paramString.equals("com.facebook.vibes")) {
  return this.window.getMember("MusicDownloadDialog");
  }
It has been long speculated that FB may bring in such a product, and with Google Music already here, FB may launch it sooner than later.
